Purchasing and Signing Up

  • My Access Code doesn't work.

An Access Code is an 8-character code that gives you either a discount when signing up for Core Grammar for College or allows you to activate an account without needing to enter a credit card number.

If the code you are trying to enter looks like a phone number or a social security number, e.g., 123-45-678, that number is not an Access Code. That number is a Class Code (see below) that adds you to an Instructor's class.

  • Have I been charged twice?

During the Core Grammar for College purchase process, a temporary authorization is placed on your credit card. If you don't finish the purchase form, or stop and come back later, a temporary authorization may remain on your credit card statement as a "pending" transaction. Any pending transactions should be removed automatically after 1-2 business days (The length of time depends on your bank and credit card.)

You will receive an email with the transaction amount listed when you have completed your purchase. If a pending transaction remains after two business days, please contact us at support@coregrammar.com.

Lessons, Exercises, and Tests

  • I'm having trouble highlighting in some Exercise questions.

This is usually a problem with the Internet Explorer browser and the "Zoom" function. If you are not able to click and highlight words when answering highlighter questions, or if the Lesson window appears cut off, please try to reset your browser's zoom setting. In Internet Explorer, you can access the zoom setting through the Tools menu or by pressing the Control button (usually seen on the keyboard as Ctrl) and the 0 (zero) key on the keyboard. You can also simultaneously press Ctrl and + or Ctrl and - to increase or decrease the zoom setting.

On Macs this process is the same, except instead of pressing the Control button you press the Command button (the keyboard button with ⌘ on it).

  • I can see the Exercise questions, but nothing happens when I click the buttons in the question.

Please check the supported platforms. If you are using a supported platform and browser and are still having problems, please contact us at support@coregrammar.com
